Area rug is a general name which are used in just about any rug, but usually is the term for a rug that's 4 ft by 6 ft in dimensions, or bigger. Medium and large size area rugs may be used together with a furniture group or in the open space of a huge room. These kinds of rugs are perfect as a centerpiece, an anchor for a sitting area, or beneath a dining room table.
