Press Release: Brintons Launch ‘Public Spaces’ Design Collection

Brintons, the world’s largest manufacturer of premium-quality woven Axminster carpet, has unveiled a brand-new collection of inspirational designs that have been exclusively developed for use in public space buildings such as airports, convention centres and sports stadiums.

The Brintons ‘Public Spaces’ collection is divided into three distinct design chapters and gives interior designers and specifiers access to a wealth of cutting-edge designs that can either be used in their original form, customised or used as inspiration when creating striking floorscapes and making a strong interior design statement.

Brintons fulfilled the world’s single largest public space carpet order in 2010 when it designed and manufactured 175,000 m2 of Axminster for installation at the brand-new T3 building at Indira Gandhi International Airport in India. It has developed this new collection because carpet is consistently the most versatile flooring choice when creating a practical and inviting interior space within a public space building.

Axminster carpet is comfortable underfoot, can be designed to enhance any interior scheme, will stand up to the demands of the heaviest pedestrian foot traffic, reduces background noise pollution, improves indoor air quality and requires minimal maintenance.

The designs in the ‘Aerial’, ‘Surface’ and ‘Structure’ chapters within the Brintons ‘Public Spaces’ collection are inspired by views and observations of form and detail from different levels – whether up close or from afar.

The designs detail our experiences of architecture and spaces by commenting on our sensory response and appreciation from different perspectives. Brintons Commercial Marketing Director, Nicola Hewitt, said: “Carpet is a great medium for making a strong interior design statement – particularly when you’re working with large and expansive canvasses that are typical to public space buildings.

“By using the large repeats, delicate patterns and strong colours that can be found in our new ‘Public Spaces’ design collection, it is possible for designers to create a unique interior atmosphere that is unequalled by any other flooring product.”

All of the new and inspirational designs in the Brintons ‘Public Spaces’ collection are supported by the company’s market-leading, global project management service that ensures all public space project – both large and small – are delivered on time and within budget.

Brintons’ skills across planning, estimating, sales, design and manufacturing have proved invaluable to many high-profile public space projects around the world when creating the most ambitious interior floorscapes that are guaranteed to make a lasting impression through cuttingedge design and product quality.
