When It's Time to Replace The Floorcovering of Your Office

Unlike your office fixtures or restaurant appliances or even the furnitures in your workplace, floors do not take a break so it’s often hard to tell when they need to be replaced. Obviously, for some, until the tiles aren't ripped or damaged, they won't be replaced. Plus the fact that you can’t re-sell your old floors. You don't want to spend too much on office refurbishment as it can hurt the business but you also don't want an office that looks really abused and worn out. So how do you know when it's time to replace the floorcovering of your office.

To help you see the signs clearly, we're presenting a few scenarios that can tell you it's time to change that flooring of yours.

Moving in to a new office

You just found a great place for your business but upon checking out the interiors, you see that the floors are hideous! Before you bring in your fixtures and appliances, you should have a nice and clean-looking floor. Choose floorcoverings that fit your needs as well as your company's image.

Style and Preferences Change over Time

Like clothes and shoes, styles and designs of floor coverings change over time. More and more flooring technology come out in the market and you don't want your business to be outdated. Whether you are redesigning your office completely or feel that a certain type of flooring does not anymore represent the image you wish to portray, then this might be the right time to get new flooring.

Worn out and Damaged

We all agree that nothing lasts forever. If your floor coverings are visibly damaged and worn out, they might have reached the end of their lifespan. Don't cheap out because the floor occupies a lot of space. You can't hide the damage and water leaks. You can prolong the life for a while but there are only a certain number of times you can refinish before you have to replace.

Health risk

Not everybody knows it but floors do affect the health of the people who frequent it, in the case of your business, your employees. The floor could be a source of mold problems, insect infestations, allergies, etc. If your floors present a health risk to you and your employees, don’t think twice and invest on a new one.

Renting out the commercial space

Why would you need new floors if you're not going to use it? Because they increase the market value of the place you're trying to rent out. Do you think a commercial space with worn out and damaged floors can attract tenants? They will surely ask for a lower rent as they'll be the one to renovate the floors.
