Tarkett, a world leader in flooring and sports surfaces, was awarded the Strategic Development trophy for major companies in the second edition of the Green Business Awards. Organized by BFM, in partnership with ADEME (Agency for Environment and Energy Management) and Ernst&Young, this prize recognizes the engagement of companies in sustainability. The jury, headed by Francis Mer, also paid tribute to Tarkett’s environmental strategy.

Since 2009, the Group has been engaged in an ambitious sustainability strategy aimed at integrating into product design environmental lifecycle impact as well as recycling or upcycling at end of life according to the
Cradle to Cradle® philosophy. Tarkett is the first French company to offer Cradle to Cradle® certified products.

In parallel, Tarkett has achieved a breakthrough in the improvement of indoor air quality with the launch, at the beginning of 2011, of product ranges with Volatile organic Compound (VOC) emissions 10 times lower
than current European standards. The Group is the flooring industry’s reference for better indoor air quality, thus underlining its leadership in sustainability.
