Wherever hygiene is vital, Care+ carpet from Signature Floors offers extraordinary benefits that go well beyond what is currently available. With an impervious vinyl back moisture barrier, a Care+ carpet actively protects floors from the spread of infection. Urine penetrates traditional carpets, seeping through to the floor substrate. Bacteria is trapped between the carpet and floor substrate out of reach of cleaners, these can cause the proliferation of germs, secondary infections and odours. With Care+ carpet, fluids sit on the same level as the Antron® soil and stain resistant fibre, and cannot penetrate the impervious vinyl backing. Care+ carpet is also bleach resistant and more easily cleaned, reducing the potential for infection and odours.

To ensure the same moisture proof benefits for the entire floor, Care+ carpet is chemically welded together ‘carpet to carpet’ and ‘carpet to vinyl’, creating a totally impervious floor covering from wall to wall. Care+ carpet weld-join technology does away with transition strips between carpets and vinyls, reducing the risk of bacteria build up and reducing the instance of pedestrian trips and falls.

Care+ carpet is designed to enhance people’s experience and wellbeing in a medical or care environment. Offering reduced roller resistance, Care+ carpet is particularly valued in high risk, aged care and special accommodation environments. Care+ carpet can also be used in active environments such as gyms, recreation centres, child care facilities, schools and libraries which will benefit from a higher standard of floor hygiene and require much less maintenance.
